Happy Father's Day

I would like to extend a Happy Father's Day wish to all Fathers of the STM Community and especially my Dad. He was always there for me when I needed him and helped guide me along life's path especially through the rough times helping me to stay strong and persevere. Thanks Dad!

Joke Corner
A guy goes into the confessional box. He notices on one side a fully equipped bar with Guinness on tap. On the other wall is a dazzling array of the finest Cuban cigars. Then the priest comes in.

"Father, forgive me, for it's been a very long time since I've been to confession, but I must first admit that the confessional box is much more inviting these days."

The priest replies "Get out. You're on my side."

The STM Lady Sabers returned from Notre Dame teamp camp yesterday going 3-3 playing teams from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. Everyone played very well and got better individually as well as a team. Great Job Ladies! Coach Mennig and I were able to sneak a round of golf with ND's head Coach McGraw-that was very unexpected and a lot of fun. The ND Campus was very pretty and very Catholic! I was able to attend Mass at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Crypt both mornings and enjoyed the experience of being at the campus.

Hope everyone's summer is going well and not going by too fast! Happy Father's Day!

Summer!

I hope everyone is having a restful and fun fulled summer! Make sure to do something educational like read your summer reading book to make sure your brain doesn't go to mush...

I got back from Kansas City working the "Battle at the Border" basketball tournament for USJN-long days at the gym, but fun.

Last week venturing over the outdoor basketball courts on the U of I Campus I ran into Jake Kluth, Ben Dodds, and Josh Kulas and showed them how to play basketball. Funny coincidence Mr. Schreder's team won every time...

Enjoy your break-make it worthwhile-get better at the sports you are in-and be productive!

"Things to do over Summer Break-Besides video games, facebook and myspace here are some productive ways to stay busy over Summer Break.

* Find a Job

* Watch a movie-Mr. Schreder recommends Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Night at the Musuem: The Smithsonian

* Read a Book - They say the difference between yourself now versus a year from now is 3 books you will read over the course of that year. Mr. Schreder recommends: "Wild at Heart (For Guys), Wooden, To Kill a Mockingbird, Into the Wild, A Seperate Peace, Harry Potter Series, Lord of the Rings Series"

* Organize - Organize old work from throughout the school year, so you can easily come back to it.

* Recreation - Join a summer league of your favorite sport: softball, volleyball, basketball, etc.

* Learn New Things - Just because you are on summer break doesn't mean you have to stop learning.

* Get Up - Become an early riser. Get the things you need done in the mornings, so you can enjoy your evenings.

* Get Out - Get some sun, its good for you, and hey...it's summer break!

* Have a Family Reunion - Family time is always quality time...well almost always (Never mind that annoying brother or sister).

* Help Others - From neighbors to the elderly. You'll feel better about yourself afterwards.

* Find a Hobby

* Study Abroad

* Travel - See the world. Take a Summer Break Cruise.-or go to Six Flags...

* Ride a Bike - Save gas."
